Horgabost/Scarista (Isle of Harris)

Site: wild camping
Setting:Situated on beautiful sandy shore, one of the most beautiful beaches at the west coast of Harris. The scenery is magnificent - splendid view over the Sund of Taransay and the Isle of Taransay
Ground: sandy grounds
Sanitary:toilets and toilets for the disabled
Comments:great camping site, recommended by the tourist information because Harris has no official campsite. There are always a number of tents and caravans in the dunes. Nearby the site is a public toilet). Fishing is allowed on Harris!
Sightseeing-Tip: The 16th century church St. Clement (Rodel)
take a trip along the golden route at the east cost, splendid landscape!

Shabost (Isle of Lewis)

Fee:6.50 (car & tent)
Setting: Turn of the A858 and follow the street towards Shawbost. The site is behind the folk museum in Shawbost. Nice view over the sea.
Ground: soft lawn
Infrastructure:washing machine , tumble drier 2, small recreation room for max. 10 people
Sanitary:sufficient, a shower costs 20p
Comment: middle-sized site, an alternative to the more expensive site in Laxdale
Sightseeing-Tip: die Callanish-standing Stones, the Black House in Arnoll
